The French language occupies the fifth position of the most spoken languages and the third-largest number of non-native speakers – more than 300 million speakers around the globe. According to the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development, French is the second most widely learned foreign language globally. In addition, almost 2 million students are learning it as a second language across 50 countries.

 

Learning a new language can be challenging - new grammar, rules, and sometimes even a new alphabet. But, thanks to gaming, learning a new language can be much more entertaining and exciting. Gameloft for brands in partnership with the Ministère de la Culture and the Office québécois de la langue française developed a new exciting mobile game, Exploratio: A Game of Words and Adventure. Dedicated to young people, Exploratio, will help players to discover the diversity and richness of the language through a voyage to the heart of the La Francophonie universe through a fun and adventurous experience.

 

Gameloft used its industry know-how to create an immersive experience dedicated to teens and youths. With a vast knowledge of enjoyable gameplay, technological expertise and artistic direction, Gameloft designed characters and stories to stimulate their capacity to learn new things and improve their skills through free games in a safe and controlled environment.

 

The result is a fun and accessible mobile game that encourages players to discover the diversity and richness of the language through a voyage to the heart of the La Francophonie universe. The game was presented in France during the Semaine de la langue française et de la Francophonie, and it’s now available to download on Google Play and in the App Store.
