Want to learn how to make the gaming industry a more diverse and inclusive place? Gameloft Barcelona has the workshop for you!

Our Spanish studio has teamed up with Yellow, a training consultancy, for a free workshop on May 25 that will go over the benefits of having a diverse and inclusive work environment.

You’ll learn how to become aware of your own personal biases in order to start deconstructing them and to start building a more inclusive work culture!

Diversity and Inclusion Matter

While the gaming industry has already come a long way in terms of diversity and inclusion, there’s still a lot more work to do before reaching true equality.

The Human Resources team at Gameloft Barcelona know this, and they wanted to take the lead and create a space where people could come and learn how to make our industry a safer and more welcoming place for all.

As an international company, Gameloft is home to people of various backgrounds, and Maurizia Di Mascio, Talent and Development Manager at Gameloft Barcelona, says it’s her and her coworkers’ goal “to make everybody feel at ease within an inclusive environment.”

Maurizia and the rest of the HR team are aware that “you can’t shape a culture of any kind overnight, but you can at least raise awareness and try to promote the efforts you make as a company towards change.”

On the Agenda

The workshop will be conducted by Marianne Slotbloom, Founder of Yellow, and Jose Powell, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist, and they both have over 15 years of experience in training inclusive skills to help tech companies build work cultures where everyone can contribute to their fullest potential.

On May 25, Marianne and Jose will go over why diversity and inclusion in the workplace is important, cultural differences and gender biases, and what we can do as individuals to foster a more welcoming environment.

A Ripple Effect

This workshop is a small step towards promoting and creating a more diverse and inclusive industry. However, as more individuals participate in similar events, we believe this will lead to real change within companies and the industry at large.

Maurizia has already noticed a change. She says, "there is a long path ahead, as gaming industry is still relatively new and the sensitivity towards diversity and inclusion is more recent, but I already see companies that are genuinely making the effort to change their mindset in this sense."

Spots are limited, and on a first come, first serve basis, so don’t wait! Sign up today!

See you on May 25 at 6 PM CEST!
