A dragon sailing by?
What’s this strange egg? Dragonologists have found fragments of historical data – now made available for Dragon Trainers! Scroll down to see sketches of this strange dragon before it arrives to Dragolandia!
Excerpts from the journal of Grundel, the first Viking “Boat Trainer”
“The invasion of Dragolandia will proceed within the month…but just this morning, I was told something quite alarming…
Half of the longships we’d spent the last year painstakingly crafting are to be left ashore! My precious war ships - rendered useless! Instead, I was handed a clutch of strange eggs. Is this what we’ve come to? Riding dragons like those weirdos on the archipelago? We have perfectly good boats!
In any case, I’d better care for these eggs, or the Dunkelviking will have my head…”
“The first of the dragons have hatched. They woke me in the middle of the night with their cries. They are as loud as human babies, and twice as needy! I fed them all the fruit in my storeroom and STILL they want more. Don’t they know how hard it is to grow Purplemons and Sour Cones this far north?! An uphill battle looms…”
“I’ve decided to call these beasts ‘Drakkar Dragons’, after my maritime speciality, my precious ships. They do bear a strange resemblance to our fleet, which has endeared them to me, if only a little… I wonder if the Dunkelviking had this in mind when he had their eggs delivered to my workshop. His attempts at kindness are as odd as they are rare.”
“When the Drakkar Dragons are well-fed, they are the epitome of loyalty. They are surprisingly smart as well, perhaps smarter than I realize. How strange - I’d always considered dragons mindless and instinctual, but no, they have personalities, and they know how to manipulate mine. I don’t even mind! They’ve become like children to me…and I am happy to replace whatever parent they were taken from.”
“Horror of horrors! I now see that our captains view my precious Drakkar Dragons as nothing more than the ships of their namesake! Can nobody else see their sensitivities? Their sentience?! I have decided to secretly study the teachings of Dragonologist Hogwin Hogvanhog, in hopes that I can help teach my people the secrets of these creatures… Perhaps, one day, they will see them as I do. In the meantime, I can make sure the fleet has PLENTY of fruit.”
These sketches display the Drakkar Dragon... but when will it finally arrive to Dragolandia?
