We belong here, in games and the industry, and we’re proud to launch this campaign on the International Day against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia to show our support for a more diverse and inclusive industry.

We recognize that the industry still has a lot of work to do in terms of diversity and inclusion both in games and the workplace. Many gamers don’t feel like they are represented enough or at all, so we wanted to take the time to give you, our community, a platform to express your thoughts and ideas.

The next two weeks, we’ll be hosting various events on our social media channels to start the conversation around these topics. We want you to have a say in the future of the industry, which is why we’ll have multiple polls and surveys throughout.

On Discord, we’ll be inviting you to pitch us your dream inclusive game in one sentence as part of our community challenge. The three pitches with the most reactions will be invited to meet and showcase their game idea to Thomas Aurick, Vice President of Creation, at this year’s Summer Camp and take home an Xbox Series S! React to your favorite ones, and keep an eye out for our questions on Discord to help inspire you for your pitches!

On LinkedIn, we’ll be speaking to our Gamelofters, all from various positions and studios, to get their thoughts and experiences on diversity and inclusion in gaming. Watch out for our interviews with Agnes Philips, Game Community Manager at Gameloft Budapest; Smith Dela Pena, UA Manager at Gameloft Barcelona; Claire Stenger, Senior Narrative Designer at Gameloft New York City; Asteria Rani, Communication Specialist at Gameloft Yogyakarta; Mara Ingham, Game Manager at Gameloft Brisbane; and Sonia En Najibi, Concept Artist at Gameloft Paris!

On May 25 at 5 PM CEST, we’ll also have a live session on Discord with Emperatriz Ung, Narrative Designer at Gameloft New York City, and Aude Mazereau, Game Designer at Gameloft Paris to talk about representation in games, the community challenge, and their experiences in the industry.

Emperatriz Ung is a Chinese-Colombian narrative designer at Gameloft NYC. She earned her MFA in game design from the NYU Game Center at the Tisch School of the Arts. She holds her BA in English from the University of New Mexico and her MA in English Literature from Georgetown University. Emperatriz looks to amplify underrepresented voices in the game development industry. She has spoken at the Games for Change Festival, Game Devs of Color Expo, PAX Unplugged, PAX East, GaymerX East, and PixelPop Festival.

Aude Mazereau is a game designer at Gameloft Paris and has been working in the industry for 10 years. She graduated from École Estienne and Université Paris 13 in Paris and has worked on multiple games, such as Riddle Stones, Auto Defense, and Cloud Chopper.

Come and join the discussion by following us on Discord, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram! We hope these events will start meaningful conversation about diversity and inclusion in gaming and encourage people to start making positive changes because we all belong here.
