In World at Arms the dastardly KRA are attacking your nation in their quest for world domination. But they do not know what they are up against with you. As the leader of one of the greatest military nations on earth, you intend to fight back against the forces of evil.
Rebuild, rearm, retaliate
Before starting your fight you must rebuild your base. Construct barracks, fuel supply lines, mess halls, and everything else you need to train your troops for combat.
Initially your forces are standard modern military fare. However, by researching new tech, you can unlock increasingly powerful and futuristic munitions. This culminates at the highest-tier with giant walking robots - these include the Atlas, the Prometheus, and the Jotunn among many others. These towering battle platforms use their scale and firepower to dominate the battlefield to dramatic effect.
In the palm of your hand
You manage all of this through World at Arms’s intuitive interface. Selecting the troops you want to train or the structure you want build is only ever a few taps away.
But, if this seems a little overwhelming at first, don’t worry because you have a staff on hand. With advisers like Sgt. Roger Higgs to advise you on everything from the basics to advanced tactics, you are in safe hands.
After you have built up a good foundation, it is time to retaliate. Sending your troops out on their first counterattack, you quickly realize the scale of World at Arms. A battlefield is laid out before you that stretches across the globe. This is populated by KRA forces to tackle in the sizable single player campaign. Or, if you prefer more personal conflicts, you can battle other players to steal additional resources.
Global conquest
You take control of your troops for individual battles over air, sea, or land. You do this by dropping them into place along set channels where they begin their advance on the enemy force. By matching your troops correctly against their opposite number, you can tip the balance in your favor.
You do not just watch the action unfold, you must also be aware of the battlefield. Tap to remove obstacles and to unleash devastating special attacks in real time. This keeps you immersed and connected with every moment of action.
Forge alliances and go to war
In a war of this scale you need allies. Joining with other players you can build powerful factions to help overthrow the KRA and gain extra rewards. Teaming with friends over Gameloft Live and Facebook also allows you to borrow units to strengthen your assault.
There are many other ways to play with your faction including Global Conquest and Faction Breach modes. Global Conquest is a turn-based event that has you war with other groups across the world for territory. It is a strategic game that demands you and your team coordinate closely. Faction Breach is a more fast paced mode, inviting you to actively select targets around an opposing factions base to raid it for resources.
