The action will be streamed live from the Paris ESL Studio on Saturday 7th of April at 4PM UTC.

How did you meet?

DuesiBS: I’ve been a mobile gaming YouTuber since 2012. I started YouTubing along with my German MC3 YouTube idols UggaMovies, Laudigun, and Metrogamesmedia.

[When MC4 came out] Uggamovies decided to create a clan with the best German players. I played MC4 a lot, so I gave it a try and applied. The Co-Leader and Skill Tester of the clan was Accurate and this was the first time we met (around 2014). With the release of MC5 some players left the clan and some new ones came in - but [eventually only] Accurate and I were still playing.

I was doing my YouTube videos and my channel grew. Because of this Radu (the manager of MC5) invited me to be part of the first invitational Modern Combat 5 esports tournament. I remembered [...] Accurate and asked him if he want to be part of Team DuesiBS. With this new clan the core of EMP Clan was formed.

AccurateGaming: For the team going to Paris... I met DuesiBS years ago through Modern Combat 5. He applied to my old EXP Clan back when I was the leader. I also [encountered] ApexPredator through MC5, where we met in the global chat. We talked for a while and then I joined his old Clan Nexus. Nowadays, we are great friends in real life and we both have been leading the EMP Clan together for nearly two years. We recruited 6man12 in MC5 too.

Your team is called EMP Clan, where do your name and logo come from?

AccurateGaming: Our name, EMP Clan, was created when we founded our Clan back in 2016. Most players already knew each other from the first Modern Combat esports tournament (the Invitational). [But we wanted to create] a whole new team.

In MC5 there is a killstreak called EMP Strike and whenever we played together and got it [we would shourt] "Jungs, EMP!" which means "Guys, I got an EMP Strike!". Therefore we [called ourselves] EMP Clan. To make our logo fit the name, we used the lightning avatar from MC5.

What was it like proving yourselves the best MCVS players in Germany?

AccurateGaming: Since we only had one German team competing against us, the road to Paris wasn't too long. It was still challenging, because that one other team performed really well.

[But it allowed us to recognize] how important team chemistry and team performance is in MCVS. Moreover, we learned a lot about our weak spots through these games.

DuesiBS: The advantage of playing in Germany was that we had only one opponent. But this team didn’t make it easy for us. We learned some important things for our performance and some weaknesses in our strategy which we hopefully have fixed for the finals in Paris.

Any tips for MCVS players looking to compete at your level?

DuesiBS: The most important thing is that you shouldn’t expect MC6. This game isn’t about your personal performance. In MC5, for example, it was possible to win a 1v3 situation. [In MCVS] you need to interact and play as a team.

In MCVS you can’t survive. So stay as a team together and make use of the different agent types. I already said the main thing – TEAM – find a team and play with it. As a team you can help each other in bad situations and get/give tips. Train more, and you may beat us!

AccurateGaming: Practice and Agent knowledge is everything. If you want to understand the game and the Agents, play as much as you can. It's also extremely important to understand the different Agent roles, so that you can get the best team line up.

A last tip is to read your enemies: look at what Agents they are playing, try to imaging where they could come from and how they will try to capture the zone. And if they don't play as expected: switch to agents that can win against their lineup. [For example] it doesn't make sense to play with a lot of assassins against three defenders!

So, you are off to the finals in Paris – what are your chances of winning?

AccurateGaming: I'm sure it won't be easy. I expect well prepared enemy teams and I have a lot of respect for them. But I'm also self-confident. I think that, if we are able to play our best, we have a high chance to win - which is of course our goal.

DuesiBS: The teams in Paris are the best of each country and I think they are all strong enough to win this tournament. The [deciding factor] will be the day’s form and [...] nervousness. If we can manage both, the chances are pretty good for us.

Do you have a message for the competition?

AccurateGaming: May the best team win!

DuesiBS: May the better team win!
