Lead Sound Effect Designer

ABOUT THE JOB

Can you imagine yourself creating world class number one sound effects and also being responsible for creativity and overall quality in our audio team?

We are recruiting a Lead Sound Effect Designer for our Bucharest and / or Budapest Studio who will be in charge for the team of sound designers in a creative (not managerial) capacity.

You would not only be responsible for the quality of the sound effects created, but you would get the chance to challenge and improve the techniques used by the sound design team while at the same time also improving yourself under the close guidance of our Sound Directors.  

No music composing is included in this role.

PROFILE

    Skills required:
    In-depth knowledge of audio software for Windows: sequencers (Sonar, Cubase, Ableton Live, Protools) and sound editors (Sound Forge, WaveLab, Audition, etc.), with expert knowledge of the most common VST plug-ins used for sound editing and mixing;
    Expert knowledge in technical limitation (sound optimization, memory, etc.) related to sound and audio formats used in video games;
    Expert knowledge in sound engines used in the video game industry (FMod, Wwise);
    Able to create and edit original sounds in various formats, such as audio samples and syntheses;
    Good knowledge of sound effect libraries (Sound Ideas, Hollywood Edge et autres);
    Manage large databases (over 2,000 sounds per game) in a logical and clear manner;
    Able to produce original, high-quality sound effects quickly and under pressure;
    Managing a team while being highly responsive and open-minded;
    Advanced level of English.

    The ideal candidate:
    Has at least 3 years professional experience in sound design and at least 2 years experience as a Lead Sound Designer in the video game industry
    A diploma in this field is an asset.
    Good grasp of current sound quality standards and a passion for playing video games on consoles.
    Is able to create and understand the sound environment of each video game quickly.
