Challenge your friends in A9’s Club Race update

Asphalt 9: Legends

Asphalt 9: Legends Club Race update is introducing a whole new level of friendly competition to Gameloft’s incredible arcade-racer. This first update introduces the ability to create lobbies to challenge members of your Club with ease – race and practice new tracks with your friends. This first update doesn’t stop there, however, with new cars and lots of exciting additional ways to win rewards!

Race your friends

The ability to create lobbies to race with your Club mates was a much-requested feature by the Asphalt 9: Legends community. And so, Club Races were born.

Creating a lobby couldn’t be easier. First, tap on the "My Club" tab on the opening screen. This will take you to your Club's menu. Here, on the bottom left, you can see the new “Club Race” button. Tap on this to be taken to a list of all races currently active in your Club and a button that allows you to create your own race.

Hitting the “Create” button sends you to another menu. Here you can select the environment, track, and laps (1-3) you want for your race before hitting “Create” again. Once this is done your race will appear in the previously visited “Club Race” menu and in your Club Chat – along with a link that will take you straight to the race. Up to eight members can join this lobby, and the race will start when the creator hits the “Launch” button.

Eager, detail-orientated readers may have noticed no car filter is available. This is because the team didn’t want to restrict the make-up of races. Instead, the goal is more of an honor system, jump into the Club Chat and discuss which speed-machine each racer should be in for a fair contest.

This Club Race option was a popularly requested feature by the community, and the Asphalt 9 team is happy to deliver it to everyone in this first update.

Two new rides

There are also two new cars coming in the Club race update, one D Class and one A Class.

First up is the D class Lotus Elise Sprint 220. It is easy to see why Lotus has called this zippy little ride the Sprint. Able to go from 0-60 in just 4.1 seconds, when fully upgraded this ride can outpace other cars in its class in terms of acceleration. Plus, it boasts impressive nitro time and handling. However, do keep in mind that on straights it is at a slight disadvantage in terms of top speed. So, be sure to close that gate if you want to stop your opponents from taking the lead. A great car for beginners and those racing on winding tracks.

Acquiring the Lotus Elise Sprint 220 also unlocks a new race series in Chapter 2 of Asphalt 9’s Career mode. This Lotus Cup offers 20 races in which to show off your skills in both the Sprint and the Lotus Evora Sport 410.

The other car coming in the Club Race update is the Ferrari J50. This A Class machine is a highly exclusive and bespoke ride, with only 10 ever having been made. It sleek two-seater design takes cues from Ferrari’s road cars of the 70s and 80s. The technology, however, is far more up-to-date drawing on the Ferrari 488 for inspiration.

A powerful all-round Supercar that you are unlikely ever to see on the highway.

Balances and Rewards

While this update is officially the Club Race update, at times it has been nicknamed the “Community Update” internally. This is because we have been listening to all of our players’ feedback and comments (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Discord, A9 forum).

One of these suggestions is related to the constant tweaks and improvements that are happening within their Class. This is to ensure a better, more balanced competitive racing experience at all levels of play. As more new machines are introduced this will continue, ensuring each car is placed appropriately within the evolving roster.

Another huge piece of feedback was to increase rewards for players at every level. So, in this update, a host of new ways have been introduced for you to get Tokens, Credits, and Blueprints.

Key among these are the Daily Goals, which offer rewards for completing simple activities that you probably already do each day. You can see what goals you have to reach in the menu located on the bottom, far right of the main menu. Complete these tasks to get the associated rewards. Do remember to collect those rewards though, as the list of tasks is updated every 24 hours.

Similarly, leaderboard prizes have been improved to offer more and greater items to the best players at the end of each season. This is going to be particularly noticeable to those in the Legends League. Here greater prizes are being awarded to players ranked in the top 1, 100, and 1,000 of the league. Reward yourself for proving that you are the best of the best.
