ABOUT THE JOB
Responsibilities:
The 2D Game Artist (UI) is responsible for creating, modifying and/or updating any UI assets as required by the project that they are supporting.
General Responsibilities
2D Art support is the main activity of the 2D Game Artist (UI) at Gameloft Philippines, Inc.
It includes:
Detects and reports issues in the production pipeline to avoid bottlenecks/delays/work impacts on others department and/or final delivery of the product;
Follows srategic planning and willingness to stick on schedule for tasks completion according to requirements (e.g., type of work & schedule) provided by Game Producers, Lead 2D Game Artists and common work agreements with the different departments (i.e., Game Design, Game Programming & 3D Art) in order to achieve milestone contents delivery;
Assists the Game Designers in creating mockups and concepts for products;
Conceptualizes new assets as required by the project;
Conceptualizes, creates, updates and/or revisits required assets as agreed upon by all parties to be used for completing a project;
Recommends best solutions along with the Lead 2D Artist regarding 2D assets to best suit the project while maintaining the best possible quality;
Optimizes assets as needed to find the best size and quality required for the project;
Reports to Lead 2D Game Artist on daily basis ETA on tasks completions;
Reports immediately to the Lead 2D Game Artist on any blockages, unresolved issues and other impediments to the production.

Technical Responsibilities
To be able to help and provide proficient support to their team members and others department representatives as well as Game Producers the 2D Game Artist (UI) at Gameloft Philippines, Inc. must be prominent in any technical aspect of their job.
It includes:
Works closely with the Lead 2D Game Artist and the Game Designers to clearly understand the requirements necessary for the Game Programmers with regard to 2D assets
Learns and emulates artistic style of the projects they are working on to be able to create assets which can integrate seamlessly with the project;
Familiarizes oneselves with the standard UI elements of Gameloft products;
Learns the use of the tools and processes required to accomplish their tasks;
Checks with the Lead 2D Game Artist assets they have created, updated, or animated after integration into the build to ensure that they are properly used and displayed;
Assists Game Programmers in fixing bugs related to assets they have created, update or animated.
Studio & Department Contribution
Any 2D Game Artist (UI) at Gameloft Philippines, Inc. should always take part in developing and improving the management tools and process, pipeline as well as teams & work organization by discussing their inputs/ideas with the Lead 2D Game Artist.
Requirements:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree , Art/Design/Creative Multimedia, Advertising/Media or equivalent.
Adequate to work in a fast paced environment.
Can work with minimun supervision
Must be hardworking and responsible
With good verbal and written skills
Creativity, competency of hand-drawing and sprite design
Proficiency in drawing software (Photoshop...), ability to draw and create animations on a pixel basis (low resolution infography) with Photoshop
Interest and experience in playing video games
Experience in cartoon and comics would be welcome
At least 1 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably 1-4 Yrs Experienced Employees specializing in Arts/Creative/Graphics Design or equivalent.
